President Laura Hyde called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.  A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the July minutes.

Manager/Pro

Tim reported this is the last week of the junior summer program.  Classes are still going strong.  Tim has a goal of one junior exchange per month starting in October.  Junior team tennis will also start back up.

Tim’s fall programs will be starting back up soon.  They include cardio tennis, adult classes, and junior classes.  Should we advertise cardio tennis?  Tim will get the fall schedule to Laura and Dick.

There is one more tournament scheduled at the club September 12-14 for seniors 35 and up.

Three new nets have been ordered and they should be here in 2-3 weeks.  Tim will fix the torn curtain on court 1.

Tim is looking at getting his license for the pro shop in September.

There are two prospective new members.

Grounds

Tim reported the thermostat on the pool has been fixed.

Per John Bell, the new key card system for the front door should be done by September 5.  We are looking at going live on October 1.  It has been suggested that we do a trial run first.  Members will be responsible for exchanging their keys for cards.

Tim will be meeting with G and E Electric this week regarding the indoor court light system timers.

Tim is working on the outside deck with help from Matt Wheeler.  There is a new screen door for the deck ready to be put up.  Tim is also working on spraying the weeds on the outdoor courts.

Tim is working with Gary Wheeler to finish the upstairs tiles and to put the coating on all of the tile work to help prevent folks slipping on the floors.

Tennis Committee

Dick reported there are three fall league teams from ATC:  a 6.0 mixed doubles team, a senior 4.0 men’s team, and a senior 4.0 women’s team.

Swim Committee

Dale reported the carnival last Friday went well.  There were no greased watermelons this year!

The shower and the lifeguard tower have been fixed.  The shower needs to be drained at the end of the season.

The pool ran very smoothly this year thanks to Brianna.  Dale will present Brianna with a Target gift certificate for a job well done.

Tim will get with Brianna to set a fall (after Labor Day) pool schedule.  A notice will be put on the pool gate with the pool schedule and shut down date.

Finance

The new forms have been completed.  The Board members will be reviewing them and any questions will be directed to Tom.

Income:              $100,239

Expenses:               85,076

Net Income:          $15,163

Board Business

The annual club meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, at 7:00 pm.

Dick now has Barb Love’s disk with all the club information on it.  Dick and Tim will be meeting to discuss managerial duties.

Any updates for the Web site need to be sent to Dale as soon as possible.

What projects should be funded with the extra $20,000 from refinancing?

·        Resurfacing the pool

·        Resurfacing the outdoor courts

·        Indoor court lights

Discussion

Resurfacing the outdoor courts:  $66-76/5 gallon pail covers around 520 square feet.  If we do it ourselves we can cut the cost by ½ to 1/3rd.  We can do ripple/crack repairing now ourselves or get a bid from Brothers Concrete.  Greg will follow up on this.  Tim will take the net down on the outside court #1 after this week.

Resurfacing the pool:  do this first.  Cost per pail is $150.  We can either do it ourselves or update past bids.  The pool will be closed September 8.  Tim and Dick will get updated bids to also include draining the pool.

Some money will be set aside in a separate account for future projects.

The next Board meeting is Tuesday, September 16, at 7:00 pm.

Laura adjourned the meeting at 9:00 pm.

Minutes submitted by ATC Secretary Carol Wood.
